Man charged with alleged sexual assault of former partner

A 37-year-old man faces the ACT Magistrates Court today after allegedly sexually assaulting his former partner.

On Sunday (October 13, 2024), the man’s former partner attended Belconnen police station to report an alleged sexual assault against her by the man.

Detectives from the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACAT) began investigating and arrested the 37-year-old man in Curtin yesterday (Thursday 17 October 2024).

He is accused of two counts of sexual intercourse without consent and one count each of aggravated sexual assault in the 2nd and 3rd degrees.
