TNF: New Orleans Saints vs. Denver Broncos prediction and game thread

Thursday Night Football, Week 7. Tonight the Denver Broncos host the New Orleans Saints. According to our friends at Fanduel Sportsbook, the Broncos are the home favorite in this game by 2.5 points.

The 3-3 Broncos are coming off a 23-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers after winning each of their last three games. The Broncos have an excellent defense that puts a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks. They rank 4th in the NFL in yards and points allowed, 5th in passing yards allowed, and 6th in rushing yards per attempt allowed. The Broncos have held three of their six opponents to 13 points or fewer. Things look different on offense. The Broncos’ Bo Nix-led offense didn’t have much success. The Broncos rank 29th in yards gained, 30th in first downs, 27th in passing yards and 23rd in rushing yards. This is a serious offense.

Speaking of bad offenses, the Saints could field the worst offense in the NFL tonight. They are missing starting quarterback Derek Carr and their two best receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. That leaves the Saints rookie Spencer Rattler, making his second NFL start, without a credible NFL receiver to throw to. The Saints offense tonight will feature Alvin Kamara and a number of scrubs. Unfortunately for the Saints, things won’t be much better on defense. The Saints rank last in the NFL in yards allowed, 29th in passing yards allowed and 30th in rushing yards per attempt allowed.

This has the makings of a very ugly game with two rookie quarterbacks leading two of the worst offenses in the NFL. However, the Broncos have home field advantage and a decisive edge on defense, which should make the difference in this game. I’m picking the Broncos to get a home win against a struggling Saints team tonight. If you’re betting, we wish you the best of luck and please consider using our friends at Fanduel Sportsbook.
