LARAMIE – Time for a victory lap.

I have won. For the first time in six damn years, I finally won a weekly pick ’em. I’m finally tied for last in the overall standings.

Man, that feels good.

Seriously, Wyoming hasn’t won a game in San Jose since 1996. That’s three straight losses in the Bay Area. The results against the Spartans were not ideal, regardless of where this game was played. These guys have won five of the last six games in the series. A win on Saturday and we’re 7-7 all-time.

The Cowpokes caused a million paper cuts against San Diego State. Two interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown, certainly didn’t help. One or two defensive errors in the secondary wiped out a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter.

There were falls, dropped balls, missed tackles, clock mismanagement and questionable coaching decisions. What else is new?

Just when it seemed like this team had turned things around with its first win of the year over Air Force, boom… five losses in six games.

Can they turn things around against a surging Spartan team that’s just two possessions away from 6-0? We’ll see.

Here are last week’s tables:

Cody: 8-4

Jen: 7-5

Josh Osterman: 7-5

Ron Adelson: 7-5

Mat: 7-5

The 50 Greatest University of Wyoming Football Players

The rules are simple: What impact did the player have in Laramie? This means that NFL stats, draft status or other accolades earned outside of UW do not play a role in this list.

This is not a one-man job. This task required a panel of experts. Cody Tucker joins 7220 Robert Gagliardi, Jared Newland, Ryan Thorburn, And Kevin McKinney.

We all put together our own 50 list and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS – only let’s hope this catalog is fairer.
