An investigation is underway after a teenager in Pueblo allegedly killed a man who tried to sell him drugs

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – The Pueblo Police Department said a Sept. 27 attack resulted in the death of an unhoused man.

Police said just before 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, they responded to a reported assault in the 1100 block of York Ave. responded in Pueblo. There they found a 14-year-old male attempting to provide medical assistance to an unhoused adult male.

Police said the adult approached the 14-year-old and asked him if he wanted to “smoke drugs.”

The teen reportedly refused and tried to walk away, but the adult continued talking to him. Police said the teen ignored the adult, which caused the adult to lunge at the minor. The teenager then punched the adult in the head, causing the man to fall to the ground and hit his head on the street.

The adult was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and on Oct. 12, police said the adult succumbed to his injuries.

Police did not say whether charges would be filed against the teen.

According to police, this was the 17th homicide in the city of Pueblo this year.
