The Rapoport Academy campus in Flewellen was placed under lockdown following reports of gunshots in the area

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – The Rapoport Academy Flewellen campus was placed under lockdown following reports of gunshots in the area, Rapoport Academy Public School Superintendent Alexis Neumann said.

Neumann said the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when two classes were outside in physical education class.

“Two cars exchanged gunfire in the back of the yard,” Neumann said in a letter. “No students or staff were involved in the crossfire.”

Staff got students inside quickly and the campus was secured, Neumann said.

Waco police said they received a call around 1:30 p.m. about reports someone heard gunshots near the 2000 block of JJ Flewellen.

According to police, there are no victims or suspects in the incident.
