One Direction breaks silence after Liam Payne’s tragic death: ‘Totally devastated’

One Direction stars Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles have spoken out following the tragic death of Liam Payne at the age of 31. The British singer and father of one was found dead after reportedly “falling” from the third floor of his hotel balcony in Buenos Aries on Wednesday afternoon local time.

In a statement posted to One Direction’s official social media accounts on Friday morning, the group said they were “completely devastated” by the news of Liam’s death.

“As time goes on and everyone is able, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved very much,” they wrote.

“We love you Liam,” the post ended, before being signed by Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry.

Louis also shared a lengthy tribute on his Instagram alongside a photo of himself and Liam, writing that he was “deeply devastated” to have “lost a brother.”

“Liam was someone I looked up to every day, such a positive, fun and kind soul,” he wrote. “I first met Liam when he was 16 and I was 18. I was immediately taken by his voice, but more importantly, over time I got the chance to see the kind brother I longed for had longed for all my life.

Louis then sent a direct message to Liam, admitting that he felt “extremely lucky” to have had him in his life but was “really struggling with the idea of ​​saying goodbye.”

Liam’s family shared a statement shortly after his death, revealing that they were “heartbroken” and that he would “live in our hearts forever.”
