Stafford County man dies in workplace accident at Norfleet Quality LLC

A Stafford County man was killed in an industrial accident on the morning of October 15, 2024. Douglas Contreras-Zuniga, 57, was fatally injured while working at Norfleet Quality LLC, a company known for providing high-quality mulch products and a longtime supplier to the U.S. Botanical Garden in Washington, DC

Fredericksburg police and fire departments responded to the accident at the company’s location at 103 Central Road after receiving a 911 call at 7:40 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered that Contreras-Zuniga had suffered a serious injury to her right leg. Despite their efforts, paramedics determined he was dead at the scene.
