The Hardin County Community Foundation received a strong financial report at its quarterly meeting this week in Kenton.

Trustees learned that the total portfolio increased to $13.2 million, an increase of 16.72% year to date.

At the meeting, the board also approved a number of policies.

These include record retention, whistleblowers, conflicts of interest, and computer, device and internet usage policies.

Trustees adopted the Kenton Athletic Boosters Cardiac Testing Fund. Around $50,000 was donated for the tests and will be invested in the foundation.

Proceeds generated by the fund are used for cardiac testing of Kenton athletes and extracurricular participants every two years.

The program could eventually be expanded to all schools in the district.

In addition, the trustees agreed to cyber insurance at a cost of $1,200 per year and $1 million in protection.

The Foundation’s next meeting will be on January 21, 2025 at 12 p.m. in Kenton.
