One person dead, suspect in custody after shooting in Lewisville – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

One person is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting Thursday afternoon in Lewisville.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Lakeway Drive in Lewisville around 11:30 a.m. after receiving multiple shots fired.

One victim was shot and taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, police confirmed.

A male suspect was arrested by police and is in custody. According to police, the suspect and victim knew each other. No further information has been provided regarding their relationship or motive at this time.

The Lewisville Police Department was just minutes from the scene of the accident, a Lewisville Police spokesman said. Due to the proximity to the police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was called to the scene as a precaution.

Police said it was an isolated incident and the building had been evacuated.
