Two teens arrested after shooting in Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) – Two teenagers were arrested after one of them was allegedly seen firing shots from a vehicle in Peoria on Wednesday night.

Peoria police said the driver of a vehicle, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest and several traffic offenses.

Another 15-year-old boy was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.

Police said officers saw a male suspect firing shots from a reported stolen vehicle in the area of ​​Griswold and Krause around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver fled when officers attempted to stop the vehicle and crashed into a stop sign in the 1300 block of Westmoreland.

The two 15-year-olds and an 11-year-old girl fled on foot before being arrested.

The firearm was not found.

The two boys were taken to the juvenile detention center.

The girl was released into the care of her mother.
