The state police take care of property damage, robberies and traffic accidents

JEFFERSON/CLEARFIELD CO., Pennsylvania (EYT) – Pennsylvania State Police responded to three separate incidents involving criminal mischief, assault and a single-vehicle crash in Jefferson and Clearfield counties.

Criminal Mischief in Falls Creek County

On September 25, 2024 at 2:05 p.m., State Police DuBois Patrol Unit responded to a criminal incident on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County. The victim, a 29-year-old man from Reynoldsville, reported damage to a dark brown Boyer Hill sectional sofa valued at $1,200. The victim reported that the suspect cut his sofa in half while it was being stored on the suspect’s property.

The investigation is ongoing.

Strangulation incident in Sykesville County

On September 29, 2024, PSP DuBois investigated an active domestic strangulation incident on Grant Street in Sykesville Borough, Jefferson County.

A 26-year-old Sykesville man was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail in connection with the incident.

The victim was identified as a 21-year-old woman from Brockway.

Single vehicle accident on Interstate 80

On October 13, 2024 at 10:56 a.m., State Police from the DuBois Station responded to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 100.4 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

The driver, a 49-year-old man from Lansing, Michigan, lost control of his 2022 GMC Canyon on wet roads and struck a guardrail.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

No charges were filed.
