Boone County man pleads guilty to child pornography crime

BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Trenton Alan Cremeans, 23, of Seth, pleaded guilty to possession of prepubescent child pornography.

According to court documents and statements in court, as of January 17, 2024, Cremeans had approximately 115 images and 22 videos of child pornography on his cell phone. Cremeans admitted that these images and videos contained depictions of prepubescent minors engaging in sexual conduct. Cremeans also admitted that he downloaded these images and videos online and used his cell phone to search for child pornography and related information online using specific search terms.

Cremeans is scheduled to be sentenced on January 16, 2025. The maximum penalty is 20 years in prison, a minimum of five years and up to life of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Cremeans must also register as sex offenders.

US Attorney Will Thompson made the announcement and praised the investigative work of the US Department of Homeland Security – Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Senior U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver Jr. presided over the hearing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Rada Herrald is prosecuting the case.
