DEFIANCE COUNTY Grand Jury returns eight indictments, including attempted rape and assault

A Defiance County grand jury has indicted eight people following cases presented by prosecutor Morris Murray. The charges include counts of attempted rape, aggravated burglary, strangulation and assault.

James A. Mansfield, 24, of Defiance, was charged with attempted rape and two counts of strangulation stemming from an alleged incident on Oct. 3 at a residence on East Second Street in Defiance.

Ryan E. Gibbs, 40, of Defiance, was indicted by the Defiance County Grand Jury on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon while under disability.

Fauna Plotts of Defiance, 34, was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer.

And 22-year-old Kristopher C. Patrick of Garrett, Indiana, was indicted by the Defiance County grand jury on two counts of domestic violence and another count of strangulation. The alleged crimes occurred Oct. 8 on Oak Street in Hicksville.
