Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy explains her departure from Argentina before his tragic death

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has told why she left Argentina just hours before the former One Direction member’s tragic death. Payne, 31, died on Wednesday, October 16, after falling from a third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires.

Cassidy had left the country before the incident and said on social media that she felt the trip had taken too long. In a TikTok post, she said: “I was so ready to go…we were supposed to stay there for five days, [it] turned into two weeks.

Cassidy returned to Florida and did not specify why Payne wanted to stay behind. In the TikTok video, she shared footage from her luxurious flight home and joked that her seat number was “1D,” referring to Payne’s former band One Direction. About 48 hours after her departure, Payne was found dead after falling about 13 to 14 meters, according to local authorities.

Emergency services responded to reports of aggressive behavior by a man at the hotel. The head of the city’s emergency services, Alberto Crescenti, confirmed that Payne had suffered “serious injuries incompatible with life” and that resuscitation was not possible. Hotel management called the police after hearing a loud noise, and Payne’s body was discovered in the hotel’s courtyard.

Payne had been in Argentina to support his former bandmate Niall Horan, who was performing in the city. Cassidy’s social media post gave no indication of any issues between the couple before her departure.
