Mine accident in Chile leaves two dead and two injured

Santiago, October 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Chile’s National Geological and Mining Service reported that an accident at a mine in northern Chile left two dead and two injured.

The accident occurred on Wednesday at the La Condesa mine in the municipality of Caldera, more than 800 kilometers north of the capital Santiago.




At the same time, Chile’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Relief Service said in a statement released on Wednesday that the two injured people were taken to a medical center in the municipality of Copiapo for treatment, Xinhua news agency reported.

“It is worth noting that no other emergencies were reported as a result of this event,” the institution explained.

On June 30, 2023, one fatality occurred in an electrical accident at Codelco’s El Teniente mine in Chile, the company’s largest copper mine.
