Man stabbed, woman shot in South End

Police said they responded to a home in the 400 block of Dickinson Street, near Notre Dame Cemetery, just after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said they found a 55-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his head and neck; Inside the home, a 42-year-old woman was shot once in the head.

New police leadership: Fall River’s new police chief, Furtado, has been sworn in. She had special words for someone present.
