Cosm Los Angeles hosts the Dodgers NLCS Watch Party

Dodgers fans lined up early outside Cosm Los Angeles in Inglewood to watch Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.

“It’s like virtual reality, it feels like you’re there at the game,” said one Dodgers fan.

Wednesday’s game marked the first time Cosm hosted a baseball event. The company uses a giant screen, multiple camera angles and real stadium sound to create a virtual viewing experience at sporting events.

“When we first sat down, [it took my son] After a few minutes, he realizes, “Wait a minute, this isn’t real,” another Dodgers fan said. “Literally, he thought we were entering a real stadium.”

“When we get this place up and running, it feels like you’re in the middle of the stadium,” said Devin Poolman, chief product technology officer at Cosm. “We had people here when you see the stadium waving and everyone standing here waving.”

Reserved seats at Cosm for Game 3 of the NLCS were a little under $200. General admission tickets were $20 and fans were able to select their seats on a first-come/first-served basis.

“I’ve been to a few Dodger games and I’ve never had such a good view,” said one fan. “It’s a good view.”

The experience made fans in LA feel like they were attending the game in New York City.

“It’s literally like being in New York,” said one fan. “But it’s less than half an hour’s drive from home. It’s going to get even wilder when we start getting some runs on the board.”
