Husband of Roosevelt Woman Found Dead Speaks About Neighbors Charged with Murder

The family of Kimberly Hyde, a Roosevelt woman murdered last week, is speaking out for the first time. Her husband Michael Hyde shared his grief and described Kimberly as a loving woman who was always there for others. The couple had been preparing to celebrate their retirement this week.

Looking back on their nearly two-decade marriage, Michael said: “The 18 years we spent together were the best years of my life. I’m sure she would say the same thing.”

Michael recounted the events that led to Kimberly’s disappearance. On her last day, she traveled to Vernal with her neighbor for lunch, a hair appointment and a visit with her stepfather at an assisted living facility.

MORE on the murder charges against Roosevelt:

After running errands at Walmart, they returned home around 2:30 p.m. “I don’t know what happened after that,” Michael said.

When Michael got home after work later that evening, he discovered that Kimberly and her car were missing. Several items were also missing, including money and several 72-hour gear backpacks from her garage. “All four were missing,” he confirmed.

He soon discovered signs of an attack in her home, prompting him to call the police. The next day, officers found Kimberly’s body in her car near Vernal Airport.

A week later, authorities identified two suspects in her death – neighbors from the house next door. “We had them at our house. We were at their house. “You were at church with us,” Michael said, trying to make sense of it all. “It just doesn’t make sense. He was just never someone I would have expected to do something like that.”

An investigative team consisting of the Roosevelt, Vernal and Naples City police departments and the Duchesne and Uintah County sheriff’s offices named Henry Resuera and a juvenile as prime suspects. The youth is in custody, but further details were not released due to his age. Resuera fled the country and authorities are now working with federal partners to locate him.
