A man has died in a fatal car crash on the Clearfield Freeway

CLEARFIELD, Utah – A 35-year-old man is dead after a fatal car crash on southbound I-15 in Clearfield, the Utah Highway Patrol says.

Sergeant. UHP’s Rick Shrader said it looked like this Man may have tried to change a tire on his blue pickup truck. The truck was in the HOV lane on southbound I-15, just past the 700 South ramp.

According to UHP, he got out of his truck and stopped on the narrow shoulder. It was dark so the cars couldn’t see anything until it was too late and they swerved. One car spun to the right and one to the left, hitting the man in the shoulder.

The man died at the scene of the accident. No one else was injured.

UHP said the victim was a Hispanic male, but the name has not been released.
