A violent crash closes EB I-74 near Morton

MORTON (25News Now) – I-74 eastbound near the Morton exit was closed late Wednesday night after an apparent accident in which one of the vehicles caught fire.

A 25News team saw a tractor-trailer with significant front-end damage and what appeared to be a burned-out vehicle. The crew also saw several cars parked on the roadway and a firefighter reeling in a hose.

Social media posts showed a fire with smoke billowing and flames high above the scene.
