Bally Sports is reportedly selling naming rights to FanDuel Sports

DETROIT – As the NHL and NBA seasons begin, according to CNBC Sports, Bally Sports’ parent company, Diamond Sports Group, which carries your Detroit Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings, will soon sell the naming rights to FanDuel Sports Network in a new deal.

The deal was announced on Wednesday evening (October 16): Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of FanDuel, would buy Bally Sports.

The network sale will be the third reformatting in as many years. Court documents revealed on October 15 that Bally Sports channels would become FanDuel.

The new deal strengthens Diamond Sports’ efforts to emerge from bankruptcy protection while increasing financial stability.

FanDuel said the new deal will provide greater brand stability and visibility in live sports, as they don’t want what happened before with the Tigers to also happen with the Pistons and Red Wings early in their seasons.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the agreement allows FanDuel to acquire up to 10% equity in the new deal.
