Police are searching for a suspect in a Home Depot robbery and assault on an employee in South Austin

Austin police are searching for a suspect in a Home Depot robbery and clerk assault in South Austin last week.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Home Depot located at 3600 South Interstate 35 Service Road southbound, near the intersection of East Ben White Boulevard.

Police say the suspect assaulted a Home Depot Loss Prevention employee and left the scene with stolen property.

He is described as a white male, between 35 and 45 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with shaggy dark blonde hair and a brown mustache/goatee. He was last seen wearing a blue polo-style shirt with a left breast pocket, camouflage shorts and a green backpack.
