No injuries were reported in a garage fire in northern Colombia, police tape seen

COLUMBIA, Missouri (KMIZ)

No injuries were reported in a garage fire in northern Colombia on Wednesday.

Columbia firefighters were dispatched to the 1800 block of Holly Avenue at 3:41 p.m. According to the fire department, a detached two-car garage was on fire. The fire department has not yet been able to provide any information about the cause of the fire.

Police tape was put up before 5 p.m. Police were seen speaking to residents in the area. Firefighters began leaving the scene at 6:18 p.m. At least seven Columbia police officers were on scene.

Boone County Joint Communications sent an alert at 3:59 p.m. saying Holly Avenue was closed between Grand Banks and Kitty Hawk Drive “due to a fire incident.”

Brian McNeil, spokesman for the Columbia Police Department, said in an email that police and firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
