Boston man arrested in stabbing on Humboldt Avenue

BOSTON – Officers with the Boston Police Department’s B-2 District in Roxbury arrested Pedro Sanchez, 43, of Mattapan, on Tuesday for assault and battery after he responded to a knife attack on Humboldt Avenue.

Authorities were called to 209 Humboldt Avenue around 12:42 p.m. after reports a person had been stabbed.

Arriving officers found an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound.

The victim received immediate medical attention from Boston EMS and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, police collected a description of the suspect, who was seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

After searching the area, officers spotted a person matching the suspect’s description returning to the scene of the stabbing.

Sanchez was immediately arrested and taken into custody.

Sanchez is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The stabbing investigation continues as authorities work to determine the circumstances that led to the altercation.
