An accident caused the road in Bridgeport to be closed for hours after a power pole was damaged

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – A car accident closed a road in Bridgeport for several hours tonight.

A vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Worthington Drive around 5:45 p.m. One person was taken to hospital after the accident.

According to Harrison County 911 officials, the utility pole was severed.

Worthington Drive from Philadelphia Avenue to the 500 block is now closed until 3 a.m. while crews repair damage to the pole and the surrounding area.

Over 500 Mon Power customers are currently without power nearby.
