Driver dies nearly a month after multi-vehicle collision that injured three others

A 61-year-old woman is dead nearly a month after a fatal accident involving multiple vehicles in the Northwest Valley.

The accident occurred near Buffalo Drive and Smoke Ranch Road shortly after 9 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said in an email.

According to investigators, a 2012 Kia Soul was traveling south on Buffalo Drive and approached a flashing yellow turn arrow on Smoke Ranch Road.

While turning, the vehicle collided with a 2016 Honda Accord that was traveling north and approaching the same intersection with a green light.

The accident caused the Accord to veer and crash into a 2007 Honda Pilot that was stopped at a red light on Buffalo Drive.

Arriving medical personnel transported both occupants of the Kia and the Honda Accord driver to the UMC trauma unit.

The Honda Pilot driver remained at the scene and neither driver showed any signs of impairment, police said.

The other three people reportedly suffered only minor injuries.

The death is the 124th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.
