23-year-old pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) – The Department of Justice announced that a 23-year-old from Boone County has pleaded guilty to possession of prepubescent child pornography.

According to court documents and statements in court, 23-year-old Trenton Alan Cremeans had approximately 115 images and 22 videos of child pornography on his cell phone on Jan. 17. The Justice Department said Cremeans admitted that the images and videos contained depictions of prepubescent children engaging in sexually explicit behavior.

Cremeans also admitted that he downloaded the images and videos online and used his cell phone to search for child pornography and related information online using specific search terms, the Justice Department said.

The Justice Department said Cremeans is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 16, 2025, and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a minimum of five years and up to life of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

Cremeans must also register as a sex offender.
