Lafayette man arrested in fatal bicycle accident

Scott police have arrested a Lafayette man in connection with a fatal bicycle accident last month.

According to police, 23-year-old Chance J. Scarce has been charged with a traffic offense in connection with the accident.

According to police, 66-year-old Ted Hernandez was riding his bicycle in the 400 block of Rue du Belier shortly after midnight on September 15th.

Toxicology tests conducted on Scarce allegedly revealed that he was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and narcotics, police said.
