Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A criminal who was under the influence of drugs (pills) killed his friend by stabbing him in the chest over an old argument at Vishrantinagar near the railway track at 12 noon today. The name of the deceased is Amol alias Nandu Dabhade (21, Vishrantinagar) while the name of the murderer is Nilesh Subhash Chavan (18).

By chance, after finishing work, Amol was chatting with his three friends near a place of worship in the village at 12 noon on Wednesday. While he was busy looking at his mobile phone, Nilesh reached there along with a friend, Kunal. He threatened Amol to come outside and accompany him by holding his both hands. When Amol got up, Nilesh took out a small sharp-edged weapon and stabbed him in the chest and later pulled it out too. Due to his serious injury, Amol collapsed to the ground and lay in a pool of blood. The friends immediately took him to the hospital, but by then he had breathed his last. Based on the information, the Pundaliknagar police station team comprising PSI Reshim Kolekar, Vinod Bhalerao and Sunil Mhaske reached the spot.

Assistant sub-inspector Sunil Mhaske along with his colleagues reached Nilesh’s house. He was relaxing at home. In the morning he had taken eight pills (narco stuff) and also sniffed marijuana (ganja). After an hour of the murder, Nilesh no longer knew who he had murdered due to his addiction. Many serious cases have been registered against Nilesh, including robbery.

There was a stir over three murders in the last week. In the first case, addict Nikhil Shingade killed Ashok Shingare (46) at 5 a.m. on October 8. The second murder of a teenager took place in Begumpura area on Monday evening.
