Longtime ROH talent Dalton Castle has been out of action since July due to a serious injury and is now targeting a return in 2025.

Castle recently opened up about his torn biceps and explained the injury on the Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend podcast with RJ City. He described how he sustained the injury during a match with Roderick Strong at AEW Collision and apparently suffered the physical setback from a fall outside the ring. Castle described the injury as a “freak accident”:

“It was the last match I had,” Castle said on the Alison Rosen podcast. “The guy I was wrestling just had a little freak accident, then this happened [left bicep] injured. I freaked out. The guy I wrestled took a cheap shot at me or took advantage of the situation. It sucks. I was supposed to go hiking in Calgary the next day. I lost the match, and then I lost my hiking trip, and now I spend every day in physical therapy and on the weekends I go antique shopping. And that’s where I find happiness when I buy old mugs… The injury wasn’t his fault, but he just didn’t give in after that. I thought we were friends, me and this guy. I was like, ‘Hey, I need a second.’ He said, ‘No, no timeouts.’… I don’t want to get into that.

Castle mentioned that he’s currently trying to stay away from wrestling because watching what his friends do in the industry is “cool” only reminds him that he’s still injured and can’t work.

“I try not to think about it too much,” Castle said of wrestling. “Free time sucks. I’m just focused on enjoying the time off and working on getting better and not watching what’s going on in wrestling and trying to distract myself from it. Except [for when] My friends will do something cool and I have to watch it and get drawn into it and excited and then I realize I’m still really hurt and get angry. It’s this weird rollercoaster cycle of emotions.”

Castle mentioned that he expects to return in January. It was previously reported that he was expected to be out of action for the rest of the year.
