Sanilac County authorities report that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the two-vehicle collision Monday morning.

Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday, October 14, reporting a two-vehicle accident on Lakeshore Road, near Harrington Road, in Lexington Township. Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies, Croswell EMS and Lexington Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

Initial investigation revealed that a 1982 Ford pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old Minden City man was traveling south on Lakeshore Road when it struck the rear of a stopped garbage truck. The truck, which was parked on the side of the road with its warning lights on, was driven by a 58-year-old woman from Gagetown.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported by Croswell EMS to Port Huron McLaren for treatment of their injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a cause of the accident.
