Alleged robbery suspect stabbed to death in Elizabeth

Authorities in Elizabeth are investigating a fatal knife attack that occurred Tuesday evening and left a suspected robbery suspect dead.

A previous report posted on our wall incorrectly stated that the incident involved gunfire because police track marks appeared to be from bullet casings.

This has since been corrected and confirmed that the markings were from the stabbing.

The incident occurred near the Metro PCS store on Elizabeth Avenue just before 9 p.m.

The suspect allegedly attempted to rob the store but was stabbed during the altercation.

Although he fled the scene, the injured suspect collapsed a short distance away and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
