Broncos vs. Saints Prediction, TNF Picks and Odds: Thursday Night Football

Broncos vs. Saints Prediction, TNF Picks and Odds: Thursday Night Football

The NFL Week 7 Thursday Night Football matchup between the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints is all about the rookie quarterbacks as Bo Nix takes on Spencer Rattler.

  • The Broncos had a three-game winning streak ended with a loss to the Chargers last week
  • Denver is .500 or worse through six games for the eighth straight season
  • The Buccaneers offense had a historic day against the Saints defense last week

The “Thursday Night Football” odds have prevailed across all of our top sports betting sites this week, but we still put emphasis on the newly favored team in our “Broncos vs. Saints” prediction.

The following picks are part of our NFL predictions for Week 7, including our early picks for Broncos vs. Saints.

Broncos vs. Saints vs. the Spread Prediction: Thursday Night Football

Broncos to cover the spread: -1.5 (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%

The Saints defense failed in Week 6

New Orleans conceded the most points (51) in Week 6 since 2012 and the most total yards (594) since 2004.

Conversely, it was Tampa Bay’s record for total yards and second-most points in franchise history. This appears to be a good game for the Saints defense as Denver was shut out in three of six games in the first half.

However, with the team riding a four-game losing streak and having a rookie quarterback in the starting lineup, the question is how productive they will be on the offensive side of the ball.

Trust Nix’s experience anymore

Nix has made five more NFL starts than Rattler, but that additional experience is invaluable and should pay dividends.

Although the Broncos aren’t built to stretch the field vertically like the Buccaneers, it’s concerning that New Orleans allowed receptions of more than 36 yards to each of Tampa Bay’s top three receivers.

Denver only has three completions over 30 yards this season, but that could change, especially if it focuses more on the running game to complement the passing attack.

Denver entered Week 6 with the 12th-most pass attempts but lowest average yards per completion.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton is a sharp offensive player and is banking on Javonte Williams, which will ultimately pay off, although his 79 touchdowns are the most of any player without a touchdown.

compensate for injuries

Patrick Surtain is arguably the best cover cornerback in sports, and Denver’s defense will be at risk if he is sidelined after suffering a concussion last week.

However, New Orleans is also dealing with a player who suffered a concussion as it lost Chris Olave last week. With Olave in the lineup, Rattler went 11 of 17 for 140 yards and a touchdown in the first half.

Without Olave, Rattler was 11 of 23 for 103 yards, threw two interceptions and the team went scoreless.

This line has been everywhere this week. New Orleans was the unanimous favorite in all sports betting to begin with. Then, depending on the sportsbook, every team was simultaneously favored on Monday, and Denver became the consensus favorite on Tuesday morning.

FanDuel is one of two top sports betting apps that offers the Broncos at -1.5 instead of -2, but BetMGM’s price for backing the Broncos at -1.5 is -120. The best numbers and odds are at FanDuel, where a winning bet of $10 would result in a profit of $8.77.

Alvin Kamara Over 71.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%

With such a small spread, it’s likely to be a nip-and-tuck game, so we should see a lot of Alvin Kamara in the running game, as the Saints entered Week 6 with the fifth-highest neutral rushing rate (in games by a margin). from a score).

The Saints probably won’t want much more on Rattler after the rookie completed just 55% of his passes and threw two picks. Kamara is the clear leader of this offense as his 109 runs easily trump Jamaal Williams’ 27.

Kamara started the season with four straight weeks of over 77 rushing yards, but was held in check the final two weeks by an elite Chiefs defense and the game plan he chose against the Buccaneers.

The O/U for Kamara’s rushing total is up to 73.5 at Caesars, so over backers will find the best number at FanDuel, the only one of our top sports betting sites that only offers 71.5.
