France bans Israeli companies from participating in the most important naval war exhibition – POLITICO

The decision was made on Tuesday and was first reported in the Wall Street Journal. It is the second time in just a few months that Israeli defense companies have been banned from participating in an arms fair in France.

Already in June, Paris banned them from taking part in Eurosatory – one of the world’s largest arms fairs for the land armaments sector. A court later overturned the decision, but too late for the Israeli companies to actually come.

Euronaval, taking place from November 4th to 7th in the Paris suburbs, is one of Europe’s largest trade fairs focused on naval warfare and will feature companies such as BAE Systems, Naval Group, Fincantieri and KNDS. According to the fair’s website, seven Israeli defense companies were scheduled to present their products, including heavyweights such as Rafael, Elbit Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries.

In recent weeks, Macron has repeatedly called on countries to stop arms sales to the Israeli government if the weapons are used in Gaza and Lebanon, and said behind closed doors on Tuesday that Netanyahu must not “ignore United Nations decisions” because “His country did this.” through a UN resolution.” Both interventions sparked outrage from Netanyahu.

The Elysee Palace did not respond to a request for comment.
