Chechen and Central Asian mobs are fighting to take criminal control of Ukraine’s occupied territories

Ethnic mafia groups originally based in Russia are gaining momentum in establishing operations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, mainly in coastal areas.

This was said by Pavlo Lysyanskyi, founder of the Eastern Human Rights Defense Group, who reported this on Facebook, as seen by Ukrinform.

“After the invasion in 2022, Russia populated the occupied territories with representatives of ethnic groups that had previously settled in Russia. On the one hand, this is because Russia is massively attracting people from Central Asia to build cities. “In addition to migrant workers, representatives of the Kadyrov clan also began to expand their presence in the occupied territories,” the report says.

Representatives from Central Asia (mainly Tajiks) began to form their diasporas, and at the same time gangs appeared that engaged in extortion of Tajiks.

The Chechens act on the same principle, but are primarily part of the Russian invasion force.

Currently, ethnic mafias live in Mariupol, Berdyansk, Primorsk, Ursuf and Luhansk. Ethnic mafia groups are trying to gain control of local markets and construction contracts.

As already mentioned, urban development in the occupied territories is currently overseen by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnulin and Minister of Construction and Housing Irek Faizulin (both ethnic Tatars), who are considered the main lobbyists on the migrant issue.

Currently, a large number of representatives from Central Asia are being brought in for construction work. According to local sources, the Tajiks receive 30,000 rubles, while the working documents indicate 100,000 rubles, so 70,000 rubles are used as bribes.

This situation, which has been developing for several years, formed a solid basis for the construction of the ethnic mob, which is currently expanding its activities into drug trafficking, robberies, extortion and agribusiness.

Ethnic groups are currently terrorizing the local population. Crimes committed by ethnic groups are increasing.

“This is it, the ‘Russian world,’” the human rights defender concluded.
