Teens allegedly assaulted man at meeting in Danvers MA last night – NBC Boston

People in Danvers, Massachusetts, say they are afraid to walk through town because they say a group of teenagers is terrorizing people and it is becoming dangerous.

At an emotional meeting on Tuesday evening, where people expressed their anger and frustration at the situation, they called on the police to take action.

The group of teenagers is reportedly in Plains Park, close to the city center. That’s where the group allegedly attacked a beloved Danvers man with developmental disabilities over the weekend.

Danvers police confirmed that the man, Chris Anderson, was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment of his injuries following Saturday’s attack.

A developmentally disabled man spoke out at a board meeting after he said a group of teenagers attacked him in a park over the weekend.

He is not the only alleged victim.

More than a dozen Danvers residents went before the Board of Elections Tuesday night to complain about the group riding bikes into traffic, spitting on people, throwing rocks and threatening people. They’re angry that the city and police aren’t doing more to stop them – especially when something so violent has happened to someone so well-known in the community.

Anderson became emotional at last night’s Select Board meeting as he spoke about being attacked by this group of teenagers.

“I’ve always been really scared of them, and in my life I’ve been scared to death of these kids,” Anderson said.

Danvers police said they are actively investigating along with school resource officers.
