ZDF Studios and Ananey Studios want to scale the heights with Himalayan drama | News

Germany’s ZDF Studios (ZDFS) and Paramount-owned Ananey Studios will co-produce the drama series “The Tea House on the Death Pass,” based on Daniel Edelson’s best-selling novel.

The 8×60′ project was created by Edelson, Ron Lesham (Euphoria) and Amit Cohen (False Flag) and is about real events that occurred during a snowstorm in the Nepalese Himalayas in October 2014. ZDFS takes care of worldwide sales.

Yuliya Fischer, acting director at ZDFS, said: “This incredible story has multiple themes: courage, death, resilience, love, fear and the human instinct to survive against all odds.” [It is] a drama that touches the heart while honoring the courage and ingenuity of the people who braved the elements.”

Hila Pachter, vice president of international relations at Ananey Paramount, said: “The Tea House on the Death Pass is a unique project that combines cinematic storytelling, gripping suspense and real-life drama, and we are excited to help bring it to life “To collaborate on a gripping story for a global audience.”

In related news, ZDFS and BlackBox Multimedia have announced the development of romantic drama The Little Italian Hotel. The 6×60′ series is based on the book by Phaedra Patrick and is about a host of a radio advice show who finds out about her husband’s infidelity during a live phone call.
