A crash closed the northbound lanes of Route 23 in Riverdale

Route 23 North was closed late Tuesday evening due to a multi-vehicle accident just before the Interstate 287 interchange in Riverdale.

A car could be seen overhanging the Jersey barrier and two of the three southbound lanes were also closed. As of 11:45 p.m., all northbound lanes were closed and a detour was in effect.

A driver reported seeing large debris on the highway.
