Akron police are investigating after a man was found dead in a tent

AKRON, Ohio – Police say they are investigating after a man was found dead in a tent under “suspicious” circumstances early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Oberlin Street in the Summit Lake neighborhood around 5:25 a.m. When they arrived, a person who lived in the area told them there had been an altercation.

Police began searching the area and found the unknown man dead in a tent behind a vacant house. Police said there were signs of trauma.

The Summit County Coroner’s Office is in the process of identifying the victim, police said. The death is still under investigation.
