Danville restaurant implements additional security measures following shooting

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – Culture Restaurant and Grill is implementing new safety measures following a shooting near the restaurant in September.

The restaurant decided to take these measures after a man was killed in a shooting nearby.

  • There will be a police officer at the bus stop across the street.
  • The restaurant closes at 8:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 6:00 p.m. on Sundays
  • The restaurant works with other establishments that stay open after 10 p.m. to set a standard: “If it’s banned in one restaurant, it’s banned in all establishments.”
  • The restaurant has decided to stop selling beer, wine and spirits.
  • The restaurant no longer allows external events or internal scheduled events to begin after 10:00 p.m
  • The restaurant has banned those associated with the incident.

According to Culture Restaurant and Grill, these measures are intended to increase the public’s confidence in dining in a safe environment.
