Murder and kidnapping charges filed against suspect after Roosevelt woman found dead in car

Two suspects, including a teenager, have been identified after the remains of a missing woman were found in a vehicle last week.

On Tuesday, October 8, the Vernal City Police Department found the remains of Kimberly Hyde, who was reported missing the day before in Roosevelt, about 30 miles east of Vernal.

An investigative team consisting of the Roosevelt, Vernal and Naples City police departments, the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office and the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office identified Henry Resuera and a juvenile as the primary suspects, a news release from the Roosevelt and Vernal police departments said.

Before Resuera was named as a suspect, officials said he traveled to another country. He is currently not on the continent and investigators said they would work with the FBI and other international authorities to facilitate his return to face charges.

His charges include aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery – all first-degree felonies.

The juvenile is in custody, but due to his age, officials will not release any further information about him.

“This incident has a profound impact on our close-knit communities and we recognize the sadness and concern it has caused,” the release said. “We would like to reassure the public that a thorough and careful investigation is underway.”
