Voter registration deadlines for Sarpy, Douglas County are just around the corner

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Douglas and Sarpy County Election Commissions are reminding residents of the deadlines to register for the upcoming election.

For Douglas and Sarpy Counties, this is the last day to register to vote by mail, online, at the DMV or by submitting information about someone other than yourself Friday, October 18th.

If this deadline is missed, you still have the option of registering in person with the respective electoral commission until then Friday, October 25th.

You can register in person at the following locations:

Nebraska’s new voter ID law requires voters to present a valid photo ID before voting.

The ministry’s press release listed some examples of valid ID cards.

  • Nebraska driver’s license
  • Nebraska State ID Card
  • US passport
  • Military ID
  • Tribal ID
  • Hospital, intermediate care, assisted living, or nursing home records
  • Nebraska political subdivision ID (state, county, city, school, etc.)
  • Nebraska college or university ID card (public or private)

If you do not have a valid photo ID, you can obtain one for free from the Nebraska DMV. If you need a copy of your birth certificate to obtain identification, you can contact the Department of Health and Human Services.
