One dead, one injured in head-on crash in Cocke County, THP investigating

COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one person and injured another on Monday.

According to a preliminary THP report, 70-year-old Barbara Williamson was driving a Toyota Sienna northbound on Highway 321, commonly known as the Cosby Highway, shortly after noon on Monday.

According to the report, Williamson failed to stay in his lane while driving around a curve in the 2700 block of Cosby Highway and struck a Ford F-150 head-on.

THP said the Ford driver died in the crash, while Williamson was injured. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown.

According to THP, charges against Williamson are pending the outcome of the investigation.

No further information was released.
