Rockford man charged in shooting

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Police say a 23-year-old man is facing charges after shots were fired between two cars.

Marcellus Lee, of Rockford, is charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, two counts of reckless discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

On October 14th at 11:30 a.m., Rockford Police responded to Fairview Blvd. and Greenwood Ave. for reports of shots fired and a house being struck.

Two vehicles reportedly fired shots at each other.

Witnesses later told police they saw one of the vehicles in the 3300 block of Greenwood Avenue. Lee was one of the people in that vehicle and was taken into custody.

During the investigation, the officers said they found two handguns.

Lee’s next court date is scheduled for October 15.
