Boston Commons stabbing suspect arrested

Boston, MA – District A-1 officers were alerted to an assault and battery in the Boston Commons near Brewer Fountain while on patrol on Tuesday, October 1st. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers administered first aid, including applying a tourniquet, before transporting the victim to a hospital.

Detectives from District A-1 initiated an investigation and identified the suspect, which resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant. The investigation culminated in the arrest of 27-year-old Philip Chen of Quincy, MA.

At 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, drug enforcement units from Districts A-1, E-5 and D-4 arrested Chen in downtown Boston. He was seen at the intersection of Summer and Otis Streets during a separate drug investigation, and officers, aware of his warrant, arrested him without incident.

Chen is charged in Boston Municipal Court with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious bodily injury, battery on an elderly and/or disabled person, and theft under $250 by an elderly and/or disabled person.

    Suffolk County, NY – Suffolk County Police participated in recent Faith & Blue events held in collaboration with various local religious institutions.     During the event, officers from the Sixth District participated in a cooking competition against members of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office. The contest ended with the Sheriff’s Office securing victory.

  • The Macon County Sheriff’s Department is trying to identify the suspect for illegal dumping

    Macon County, TN – The Macon County Sheriff’s Office has asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of a vehicle involved in an illegal dumping incident.

    The vehicle was seen at Macon County Jr. High where a male subject was discarding an old couch, stove and other items on school property. The Sheriff’s Office and Macon County School District are collaborating on this effort.

    Photos of the vehicle in question were shared across the Macon County Sheriff’s Office social media platforms. Officers are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or its owner to come forward.

    Authorities want to solve this case with the help of the community to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of the area.
