Conor McGregor says Mike Perry is still fired from BKFC but admits he is ready to give ‘Platinum’ another chance

On July 20, Mike Perry put everything on the line in a boxing match with Jake Paul at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, USA.

In a valiant effort, the UFC veteran gave everything he could to get the win. But ultimately he was too small and inexperienced and suffered a sixth-round knockout defeat.

The loss infuriated Conor McGregor, who almost immediately claimed he had fired the American from BKFC. However, over time he has reconsidered his position somewhat.

After all, the 33-year-old has proven himself in the bare knuckle arena, defeating hitters like Michael “Venom” Page and Luke Rockhold.

When asked if Perry was still fired, “The Notorious” replied “yes.” However, the former two-time UFC champion admitted that he might be willing to give the fan favorite another chance, claiming that Platinum is afraid of one of the promotion’s champions.

In an interview with The Schmo, McGregor said: “Mike [Perry] is fired, but we are in negotiations. [Dave] “Redneck,” Mundell called out to him.

“He was afraid of Mundell. We had to give him the title “King of Violence” or whatever you want to call it, but he was never a world champion. And he’s afraid of Dave “Redneck” Mundell. He has now called him out; Let’s see what Perry answers.”

While Paul vs. Perry was a huge fight in the world of boxing, there were some who weren’t too keen on the idea.

BKFC founder David Feldman felt that accepting the match was not the right move for one of the biggest stars of his career.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, he discussed why he believes Platinum shouldn’t have laced up the 25oz gloves and teased who the icon might face next.
