Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced the recent sentencing of Jimmie Ray Fields of Lucedale, who will spend the rest of his life in prison.

On October 2, George County Circuit Court Judge Calvin Taylor sentenced Fields to 40 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, including 40 years for each of 25 counts of child exploitation related to his possession of child sexual abuse materials.

It was ordered that all counts be carried out simultaneously. Fields must serve his sentence day by day without the possibility of parole. He will also have to register as a sex offender upon his release.

This case was investigated by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office with the assistance of the Lucedale Police Department and prosecuted by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and the George County District Attorney’s Office.

“This office is proud to work with law enforcement and prosecutors from across the state to protect Mississippi’s children from predators,” said Attorney General Lynn Fitch. “Together we are making Mississippi a safer place for everyone. If you suspect that a child is being exploited or abused, please report it to my office. Your tip could save a life.”
