Motorcyclist dies in SUV crash in northwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into an SUV in the Northwest Valley Monday evening.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the accident occurred on North Rancho Drive, just north of North Torrey Pines Drive, around 7:02 p.m. An initial investigation revealed that a 2013 KTM 1190 RC8 motorcycle was traveling north on the Rancho at a high rate of speed while a 2020 Lincoln Corsair was traveling south.

The Lincoln turned left just before the intersection to enter a private driveway and the motorcycle collided with the rear right side.

The driver was ejected and later transported to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries. However, the driver, who was a 32-year-old man, died from his injuries.

The Lincoln driver and passenger also reported injuries in the crash and were transported to UMC. Additionally, police say the driver is not suspected of being impaired.

“The motorcyclist’s death was the 123rd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2024,” LVMPD noted in a news release. “This collision remains under investigation by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Division.”
