Child is accused of trying to sell guns after an 11-year-old was shot and injured

New information has emerged in a shooting in which an 11-year-old was shot and injured in West Palm Beach on Monday.

According to West Palm Beach police spokesman Mike Jachles, officers arrested a 12-year-old who was bringing two guns to a home to sell to two other boys.

Jachles said the 12-year-old and the two other boys were not the shooter nor did they live in the home where the shooting occurred.

The 12-year-old boy was charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and taken to a juvenile assessment center. Police were able to recover a weapon that was found in the 12-year-old’s home.

The shooter’s case is presented to the prosecutor.

On Monday afternoon, CBS12 News received reports of an 11-year-old who was shot while children were playing with a gun.

The child’s injuries were not life-threatening. Jachles said there were nine other children in the home, including the 11-year-old, when the shooting occurred between Grant Street and Division Ave.
