Man dies after shooting on Corley Avenue

According to Beaumont police, an accused gunman waited at the scene after a shooting on Corley Avenue that left the man who was attacked dead.

Police identified the deceased as Kelon King, 20, of Beaumont.

Investigators say they will speak with the district attorney’s office to review the details of the case and decide whether to file charges.

The preliminary investigation determined that the shooting stemmed from an argument between two people on Monday around 3:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Corley Avenue.

The man who was shot died at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital.

According to police, the shooter waited at the scene for officers to arrive and cooperated with the investigation.

“This appears to be an isolated incident between two individuals who were involved in an argument,” BPD said.
